Social informatics is the body of research that examines the design, uses, and consequences of information and communication technologies in ways that take into account their interaction with institutional and cultural contexts. This article serves as a brief introduction to social informatics. Examples such as computer networks, scientific communication via electronic journals, and public access to the Internet are used to illustrate key ideas from social informatics research. Some of the key themes include the importance of social contexts and work processes, sociotechnical networks, public access to information, and social infrastructure for computing support. The article draws upon 25 years of systematic analytical and critical research about information technology and social change.  相似文献

Preliminary findings of Active Classrooms: An intervention to increase physical activity levels of primary school children during class time

This study evaluates the effects of a behaviour change intervention, which encourages the integration of physical activity into the teaching of academic lessons, on physical activity levels of students. The main outcome is mean minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) daily generated during the intervention lessons. Teacher's perceptions and students' enjoyment of the programme were also evaluated. Students accumulated a mean of 8 min MVPA during the intervention lessons daily. The teacher and students were very satisfied with the programme. Therefore, changing teacher behaviour towards using physically active teaching methods is a promising way of increasing children's physical activity levels.  相似文献   

富镧镧铁硅化合物的磁性和磁熵变

通过添加过量的稀土元素La,得到La1.2Fe13-xSix系列化合物在1100摄氏度下短时间退火后形成稳定的Na Zn1 3型结构相。分析还表明该系列化合物在Si含量较少时,含有少量的α-Fe相和富镧相。磁性测量表明居里温度随着Si含量的增加由183K近线性的增加到214K,热滞随着Si含量的增加而减小。在各自的居里温度附近观察到由磁场引起的变磁转变特性,且随着Si含量的增加而减弱。磁熵变的最大值随着Si含量的增加而减少。  相似文献

前人对句尾"了"的语法意义所做的概括还存在一些不尽人意的方面,通过对句尾"了"用法的分析可以看出,句尾"了"其实可分为两个不同的"了",一个是侧重于表现事态现实性的变化义,一个是侧重于表现事态真实性的确认义。事态的现实性与真实性之间存在着内在的联系,具有一致性,所以句尾"了"的变化义与确认义之间也不是截然分开的,而是存在中间地带,某些变化义从另一个角度来看,也是确认义。  相似文献

Do timing and reference frame of feedback influence high-stakes educational outcomes?

In a field experiment with fifth and sixth graders in secondary schools, students received feedback about their rank level or the change in their rank in math either a few days or immediately before the school year’s final math exam. Early feedback overall enhances exam performance while late feedback worsens it. We find this pattern to hold for level feedback in general and for change feedback when negative. Heterogeneity analyses suggest the effects are mostly driven by boys, who also negatively update ability beliefs in response to feedback.  相似文献
